Consider this: So long as well taxes are argued to have redistributional intent they will be perceived as the realm of a fringe cohort of anti-capitalists. But if our economic leadership would ever open their eyes and examine the cronyist intent and impact of existing policies, they might see that a return to property taxes (the long-term norm of recorded history) is a return to fundamental principles of both democracy and capitalism.
